Sistah Code 2.4: I Will Discover My Story of Strength

Strength (noun)- the quality or state of being strong, in particular. A good or beneficial quality or attribute of a person or thing.
One thing I've learned about strength is it's hidden in the places we don't want to go. Most often we compare our strength to our struggles and we start to feel as if we just aren't as strong as it may seem. Truth is the lesson is always hidden in our challenges, how can we grow if we don't face them?
Being strong is a trait we are all gifted and the more we use it the stronger we become. Myself personally have gained so much from understanding who I am, acknowledging and accepting while growing in my truth. I chose to not allow what may be a challenge to get the best of me but to dig deep and pull the greatness out that's hidden beneath it all. Now I have to be completely honest life is hard , I mean sometimes you just want a break. To get up daily and keep a leveled head all while facing God knows what in your personal life or mind, it takes a toll on me for sure but I've learned that I have the ability to set the tone for my day and so do you.
You know how they say you have to play the hand that you are dealt? Although we are dealt a difficult hand sometimes, I don't know about you but I wouldn't trade in mines for anything. Being adopted never phased me but to lose both of my parents at a young age, being independent and learning to take care of myself, sacrificing years in the military away from family and while meeting my biological family and building new relationships all phased me in different ways. I shared that because I want you to get to know me and know that we all have and will face challenges but we possess the strength within to choose how we play are hand. I vowed to play every card I'm dealt with courage, confidence and strength.
In my book "The Story of Strength" I shared my journey through the different pillars of strength in my life. I learned that journaling is an outlet to express myself, my feelings and emotions in words and I want to encourage you to do the same.
